James also has extensive experience representing clients in internal and regulatory investigations.

• Represented a Fortune 500 company in an action in the Supreme Court of New York to foreclose on an equity interest in a major airline
• Defended a public company in an SEC enforcement action alleging insider trading and failure of corporate accounting controls
• Represented a company seeking a preliminary injunction in the Supreme Court of New York to prevent foreclosure of its equity interest in a real property holding LLC
• Represented an industry-leading consulting company in mediation of a commercial contract dispute
• Defended an underwriter in a putative class action in the Supreme Court of New York arising out of the 2021 ViacomCBS public offering
• Represented a Fortune 500 company in multiple non-compete disputes spanning several jurisdictions
• Represented a hotel owner in arbitration against a hotel manager regarding termination rights under a hotel management agreement
• Represented members of a Delaware LLC in a breach of fiduciary duty action against the LLC manager, including through appeal in the Appellate Division, First Department, and the New York Court of Appeals
