Our Focus

Sophisticated Litigation for Corporate & Institutional Clients

Munn & Orth PLLC concentrates primarily on plaintiff-side representation in complex commercial matters, though we also handle select defense engagements. Our practice is built around a core belief: corporations, healthcare providers, educational institutions, and other institutional clients deserve the same sophistication and tenacity in pursuing their claims that the best firms bring to any side of a dispute.

Every matter we handle involves significant commercial stakes and sophisticated parties. We are selective in the work we take on so that every client receives our full attention and best effort.

01

Complex Commercial Litigation

At the core of our practice is complex commercial litigation between sophisticated parties. We handle major business disputes involving breach of contract, corporate governance conflicts, joint venture disputes, merger and acquisition disagreements, and other high-value commercial matters. Our attorneys understand the commercial context in which these disputes arise and litigate them accordingly — with precision, strategic clarity, and a focus on achieving the best outcome for our clients.

We handle cases in state and federal courts at all levels, as well as in domestic and international arbitration forums.

02

Securities & Shareholder Litigation

We represent institutional investors and corporate plaintiffs in securities fraud litigation, breach of fiduciary duty claims, and related shareholder disputes. Our attorneys are experienced in the procedural and substantive demands of securities litigation, including actions under the federal securities laws, state fiduciary duty claims, and derivative litigation on behalf of corporate entities.

We work closely with clients to evaluate the strength of securities claims and develop strategies designed to maximize recovery through litigation, settlement, or both.

03

Business Torts

When corporations and institutions are harmed by the wrongful conduct of counterparties, competitors, or insiders, we pursue the full range of available tort remedies. Our business torts practice encompasses fraud and fraudulent inducement, negligent misrepresentation, tortious interference with contract and business relations, unfair competition, trade secret misappropriation, and related claims.

We understand that business tort claims often arise alongside or in lieu of breach of contract claims, and we are skilled in marshaling the full spectrum of legal theories to our clients' advantage.

04

Antitrust & Competition Litigation

Corporate and institutional clients harmed by anticompetitive conduct have powerful remedies under federal and state antitrust law. We prosecute antitrust claims on behalf of direct and indirect purchasers affected by price-fixing cartels, bid rigging, market allocation schemes, monopolization, and other anticompetitive behavior.

Antitrust litigation is complex, data-intensive, and expert-driven. We have the experience and resources to pursue these claims effectively, including in class action and multi-district litigation contexts.

05

Class & Collective Actions

Many of the largest commercial recoveries are achieved through class actions and other aggregated proceedings. We have experience prosecuting complex class and collective actions on behalf of corporate and institutional clients, from the pleading and certification stages through trial and settlement.

We work with leading economists, financial experts, and other specialists to build the quantitative and analytical foundation that class litigation requires, and we are skilled in managing the procedural complexities that large-scale coordinated actions present.

06

Contract Enforcement

When sophisticated commercial agreements are breached, our clients need counsel that understands not only the legal issues but the business deal that underlies the contract. We handle enforcement of complex commercial agreements, including acquisition agreements, partnership and joint venture contracts, long-term supply and services agreements, licensing arrangements, and non-compete and confidentiality obligations.

We pursue the full value of our clients' contractual rights, through both litigation and alternative dispute resolution, and are experienced in seeking emergency injunctive relief where the matter requires immediate action.
